Re-knotting the pile

The restoration of antique Persian rugs.

Persian Karaje ca 1900

This tribal and very fine Persian Karaje was brought in after decades of use.

The rug was passed on to a relative and the new owner wanted to bring it back to it’s original beauty.

Ali was able to match up the colors and reknot extensive worn areas.

This Karaje was extremely fine for a Persian tribal piece and the wear was extensive.

Knotting and evening out the pile when the rug is so fine is extremely difficult.

A stitch in time saves nine.

Rugs are made to last a lifetime.
