This Persian Gabbeh Amalehbaft rug is a testament to the enduring artisanship of Persian weavers, featuring a simplistic yet charming animal motif set against a checkered backdrop. The tactile woolen pile and earthy tones offer a comforting texture and a versatile visual palette. It seamlessly blends into contemporary spaces looking for a hint of rustic appeal. This hand-knotted piece measures 2'6" x 3'7", showcasing a unique size suitable for intimate nooks or as an accent piece.

Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
