Description
This Malayer rug, steeped in Persian tradition, showcases a rich tapestry of intricate floral patterns that reflect the artisanal craftsmanship of its origin. The vibrant reds and deep blues create a stunning visual impact, while the luxurious wool pile adds a delightful texture underfoot. Combining historical elegance with contemporary decor trends, this piece effortlessly enhances both traditional and modern interiors. Measuring 4'4" x 6'3", it stands out as a unique addition to any space.
Malayer rugs are made by semi-nomadic people living in the Malayer district near Arak, between Hamadan’s major weaving areas and Saruk in Northwest Persia. The designs range from diamond or hexagon shaped medallions to all-over patterns, such as the classic Herati pattern. Although Malayer rugs were produced from classical Persian sources, they tend to be fairly geometric and abstract, with soft coloration and occasional dark blues and reds.
Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
