This Persian Bijar rug embodies the impeccable artisanship that is a hallmark of this storied weaving region. Rich hues of burgundy, navy, and cream weave a traditional design that provides a visual bridge between historic elegance and contemporary style. Its hand-knotted wool exudes a texture that speaks to both visual and tactile sensibilities. Measuring 4'10" x 7'2", this Bijar rug brings a touch of timelessness to modern interiors.

Bijar rugs are woven by Kurdish weavers in Bijar, Iran or woven in the surrounding villages using time honored weaving techniques that are particular to this area and tradition. Bijar rugs are renowned for their durability, brilliant use of color and abundance of designs. Often referred to as "The Iron Rug of Persia", the Bijar rug is distinguished by its highly packed pile, which is produced by a special technique. The designs are traditionally Persian, with predominant Herati, but also Mina Khani, Harshang, and simple medallion forms.
