Description

This Afghan Gabbeh rug showcases the rich heritage of traditional Persian design through its bold geometric patterns and vibrant color blocks. Meticulously handcrafted by skilled artisans, the rug presents a plush pile that adds textural warmth underfoot, blending seamlessly with both modern and traditional decor. Ideal for enhancing contemporary interiors, its unique characteristics include a dynamic interplay of deep blues and fiery reds, creating a focal point in any room. This striking piece is measured at 5'9" x 8'4", combining timeless craftsmanship with an eye-catching aesthetic.

Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants. Gabbeh rug concepts are now being copied and reimagined at many notable modern centers of weaving across the world.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
