Rug Pads & Underlayment

The right pad underneath your rug will not only keep you safe from slipping, but also increase the longevity of your rug by protecting the knots. We offer free samples of all three types of pads that we carry.

Our pads are $2.50 per square foot. Each one is custom cut for your rug, leaving the pad approximately 1.5” smaller than your rug on all four sides to ensure a seamless fit.

Hard Surface Pad

Ideal For

Rugs installed on hard surface flooring (Tile, Concrete, Saltillo, Hardwood etc)
Description

Approximately 1/4” thick. A two-part system, the latex backing grips the floor while the recycled felt material grips your rug. We have carried this pad for over 35 years, and it is considered the top of the line rug pad and is the only pad on the market safe for use on hardwood floors.

Carpet Pad

Ideal For

Medium to large size rugs installed on top of wall-to-wall carpeting.
Description

Approximately 1/4” thick, this synthetic fiber pad is dense. It provides additional stiffness to your rug so as to prevent sinking or bunching underfoot.

Low Profile Underlayment

Ideal For

Small rugs that need extra grip on hard surfaces, rugs with clearance issues at doorways, and small rugs going on carpeted floors.
Description

Approximately 1/16” thick. This thin felt-like pad holds a no-residue tacky grip against your floor and your rug, and the low-profile construction make it ideal for instances when height is a concern. For carpet, the gray side goes up. For hard floors, the white side is up.

We can't say enough good things about this business. Not only did they do a great job cleaning a dhurrie rug for us, but Ali, their master carpet repair man, repaired a treasured rug for us after we thought it had been destroyed by the dry cleaners.
