Drawing from a rich tapestry of Persian heritage, this Gabbeh rug made in India captures the essence of traditional craftsmanship and simplistic charm. The rug displays subtle earth tones that are punctuated by spirited, primitive motifs, creating a sense of timeless elegance that fits seamlessly into both classic and modern interiors. The lush texture of the wool adds a layer of comfort and luxury, hand-woven by artisans who've inherited centuries-old techniques. With a modest footprint of 3'0" x 5'3", it provides an authentic and tasteful cultural touch to any space.

Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants. Gabbeh rug concepts are now being copied and reimagined at many notable modern centers of weaving across the world.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
