This hand-knotted Gabbeh rug from India marries traditional Persian design with expert craftsmanship, featuring a bold striped pattern accented with tribal motifs. The vibrant juxtaposition of deep reds and classic blacks is framed by delicate geometric detailing, giving it a timeless aesthetic that complements both modern and traditional decor. Skillfully crafted by Indian artisans, this piece infuses any room with a sense of warmth and sophistication. Perfectly sized at 4'1" x 5'11", this rug is a testament to enduring design and artisanal heritage.

Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants. Gabbeh rug concepts are now being copied and reimagined at many notable modern centers of weaving across the world.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
