Description

This handwoven Afghan Luri Gabbeh rug celebrates traditional Persian design, meticulously crafted by skilled artisans. Its visual narrative is rich with earthy tones and playful motifs of nature, exuding a sense of time-honored history in each detail. Perfectly suited for contemporary decor, its unique character adds warmth and texture to any space. The piece measures 8'0" x 9'11", presenting a one-of-a-kind aesthetic that gracefully bridges the past with modern style.

Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants. Gabbeh rug concepts are now being copied and reimagined at many notable modern centers of weaving across the world.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
