Drawing upon the rich Persian textile heritage, this Gabbeh rug reflects the pure essence of nomadic artistry with its abstract geometric patterns and earthy tones. The skilled artisan has carefully woven this piece to create a tactile landscape of wool that speaks of age-old traditions while effortlessly fitting into contemporary spaces. This 4'9" x 8'2" rug, with its natural dyes and unique features, offers a harmonious blend of rustic charm and modern aesthetic. Its understated elegance makes it a versatile addition to any home seeking a touch of cultural depth and artisanal craftsmanship.

Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
