This Afghan Gabbeh rug, crafted by skilled artisans, presents a vibrant testament to traditional Persian design, infusing it with unique regional characteristics. The rug boasts a rich tapestry of geometric shapes and animal motifs, set against a palette of deep reds, blues, and warm earth tones, offering a visually engaging addition to any room. Ideal for complementing contemporary decor trends, this rug seamlessly blends ethnic charm with modern aesthetics. Sized at 5'1" x 6'7", its distinct presence celebrates both the old and the new in a harmonious fashion.

Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants. Gabbeh rug concepts are now being copied and reimagined at many notable modern centers of weaving across the world.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
