Description

This authentic Afghan Gabbeh rug embodies the rich textile traditions of Persian design, handwoven by skilled artisans with a focus on timeless craftsmanship. The rug's intricate pattern and vivid red hues are highlighted by subtle geometric motifs, offering both visual and textural appeal. Seamlessly fitting into contemporary spaces, this piece adds warmth and cultural depth to any interior. This distinctive rug measures 3'0" x 5'0", making it an ideal accent for both living and work areas seeking a touch of artisanal charm.

Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants. Gabbeh rug concepts are now being copied and reimagined at many notable modern centers of weaving across the world.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
