Description
This Fine Indo Gabbeh rug is a modern testament to India's ancient craftsmanship, drawing from traditional Persian Gabbeh designs. Woven with a lush, dense pile, the rug's rich gradations of terracotta hues make for an elegant visual experience and a soft, inviting texture. A perfect balance of heritage and sophistication, it seamlessly integrates with both classic and contemporary decor. This tastefully understated piece measures 4'0" x 6'0", and is a singular addition to the refined collection available at Asian Trade Rug Company.
Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants. Gabbeh rug concepts are now being copied and reimagined at many notable modern centers of weaving across the world.
Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
