This Afghan Gabbeh rug proudly showcases the skillful artisanship derived from longstanding Persian design traditions. Displaying a minimalist tree motif set against a rich red backdrop, bordered by serene hues of green and beige, the rug conveys a visual story of its heritage. It seamlessly bridges the gap between timeless artistry and modern decor, making it an understated yet captivating centerpiece. Measuring 4'8" x 6'11", this piece is imbued with a unique character that stands out in contemporary settings.

Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants. Gabbeh rug concepts are now being copied and reimagined at many notable modern centers of weaving across the world.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
