Description

This handcrafted Indian Gabbeh rug is a contemporary interpretation of traditional Persian motifs, presenting a bold, minimalist design with its vibrant bands of color and subtle geometric patterns. Expertly woven by skilled artisans, this piece embraces modern aesthetics with its vivid and clean lines, while small intricate details pay homage to its storied craftsmanship. Perfect for adding a splash of color and texture to a modern home, this distinctive rug measures 8'0" x 9'10" and is a testament to timeless design reimagined for contemporary living spaces.

Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants. Gabbeh rug concepts are now being copied and reimagined at many notable modern centers of weaving across the world.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
