This Luri Gabbeh rug, expertly crafted in Afghanistan, is a testament to the region's enduring history of textile artistry and skills passed down through generations. The rug showcases a rich blend of geometric and tribal motifs set against a varied color palette, providing both visual depth and a tactile textural experience. Perfect for adding warmth and a touch of the eclectic to any contemporary space, this piece complements modern decor with its unique character and authentic craftsmanship. The convenient size of this rug, at 2'9" x 4'6", allows it to be a versatile addition to any room.

Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants. Gabbeh rug concepts are now being copied and reimagined at many notable modern centers of weaving across the world.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
