Discover the elegance of a Sino Aubusson rug, a Chinese interpretation of classic French design, known for its sophisticated craftsmanship and historical roots. This piece showcases a maroon field adorned with a delicate beige and pastel floral motif, surrounded by a complementary light border that brings a romantic, yet versatile, appeal to modern interiors. Its artisanal quality and distinctive design seamlessly blend tradition with contemporary style. This fine rug measures 2'5" x 10'0", making it an exquisite feature for both intimate spaces and grand rooms.

Aubusson rugs are handwoven in the villages of Aubusson and Felletin in Creuse in central France. First made for nobility and royalty, their flatwoven form became synonymous with french carpets, as pile aubusson rugs were rare. They resemble modified Oriental designs, Oushak medallion carpets, or Renaissance florals, and architecture, in soft colors that reflect French tastes. Sino Aubussons are rugs that have been copied and recreated in the Shangdong region of China.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
