Description

Delicately crafted with a nod to the opulence of French design, this Chinese Aubusson rug showcases a timeless composition of meticulously woven floral motifs and intricate borders. Its plush texture and rich hues of burgundy and gold seamlessly blend traditional craftsmanship with modern living spaces. Perfect for adding a touch of elegance to contemporary decor, the rug measures 6'4" x 6'8". Each piece is a testament to the skill of the artisan, making it a unique feature for any home.

Aubusson rugs are handwoven in the villages of Aubusson and Felletin in Creuse in central France. First made for nobility and royalty, their flatwoven form became synonymous with french carpets, as pile aubusson rugs were rare. They resemble modified Oriental designs, Oushak medallion carpets, or Renaissance florals, and architecture, in soft colors that reflect French tastes. Sino Aubussons are rugs that have been copied and recreated in the Shangdong region of China.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
