Description
The Bijar rug encapsulates the traditional craftsmanship and aesthetic integrity of Persian designs. Richly colored in deep burgundies, midnight blues, and touches of cream, the intricate herati patterns create an engaging visual harmony. This heirloom-quality piece easily incorporates into contemporary spaces, adding warmth and historical sophistication to any room. With dimensions of 2'2" x 5'3", it radiates exclusivity and artisanal charm.
Bijar rugs are woven by Kurdish weavers in Bijar, Iran or woven in the surrounding villages using time honored weaving techniques that are particular to this area and tradition. Bijar rugs are renowned for their durability, brilliant use of color and abundance of designs. Often referred to as "The Iron Rug of Persia", the Bijar rug is distinguished by its highly packed pile, which is produced by a special technique. The designs are traditionally Persian, with predominant Herati, but also Mina Khani, Harshang, and simple medallion forms.
Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm.
