Description
This Gabbeh rug, crafted with precision by Pakistani artisans, captures the spirit of traditional Persian folk design through its simple yet expressive geometric patterns. Muted earthy tones blend harmoniously across its hand-knotted wool surface, offering a visual softness that complements the plush texture. Ideal for adding a touch of time-honored charm to modern living spaces, this rug embodies a fusion of cultural history and contemporary aesthetic. It measures 8'2" x 10'3", making it a versatile addition to both intimate and spacious interiors.
Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants. Gabbeh rug concepts are now being copied and reimagined at many notable modern centers of weaving across the world.
