The Bakhtiari carpets are named after the nomads of the Bakhtiari tribe, who live in the Zagros mountains near the city of Isfahan. Their carpets are made of strong and sturdy wool, and are among the most robust of all Persian carpets. The pattern of Bakhtiari rugs is mainly geometric, sometimes semi-geometric, and sometimes curvilinear, with the garden design being most common. Designs tend to be very dense, and vibrant colors, such as deep reds, bright blues, navy, greens, brown and beige commonly used.
