This finely crafted Indo Agra rug boasts a time-honored design, weaving together India's rich artisanal expertise with classic Persian motifs. Skilled artisans have created a tapestry of sophisticated patterns and a harmonious blend of burgundy and beige tones that speak of elegance and subtlety. Effortlessly complementing contemporary decor, this rug measures 9'0" x 12'0" and brings a touch of cultural history into the modern home. Its unique charm lies in its ability to bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary style.

Carpet manufacturing began in 1619 during Agra's period as the capital of the Mughal Empire. In the late 19th century, carpet weaving was often based in jails, the most famous of which is the Agra Jail, where inmates produced exceptional rugs during that period using traditional designs. Agra rugs include shapes and styles that depict elements from nature, and use vegetable dyes to make the weaving yarns in classic blue, red, purple, and gold hues.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
