This Persian Mashad rug is a vivid testament to the rich history and traditional craftsmanship of Persian rug-making. Intricate floral motifs flow across a deep raspberry field, framed by a contrasting indigo border that captures the eye with its ornate detail. The hand-knotted wool construction and delicate sheen will gently complement modern interiors, bringing an air of timelessness and cultured taste. Sized at 9'7" x 13'4", it is an elegant addition that bridges the charm of ancient Persia with the aesthetic sensibilities of contemporary design.

Rug production began in Mashad, a city in northeastern Iran, in the late nineteenth century. Mashhad is a source of beautiful rug weaving as well as a marketplace for trading rugs of surrounding villages. Deep crimson red is usual in Mashad rugs and is balanced by tones of sky and navy blue. Mashad rugs are typically woven in large standard sizes, and the flowing designs resemble those of Kerman and Kashan.

Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
