Description
This Persian Gabbeh rug, steeped in a tradition of simplicity and folkloric charm, showcases a minimalist yet dynamic series of patterns that resemble scattered brushstrokes on a textured canvas. A tasteful interplay of beige and dark earthy tones creates a serene visual appeal, making it a subtly striking addition to modern and contemporary spaces. Crafted by adept artisans, its thick, plush wool pile offers a luxurious underfoot feel. Perfectly sized for versatile placement, it measures 6'6" x 9'1".
Gabbeh are tribal rugs crafted by the nomadic Kurdish, Luri and Qashqai people of the Zagros Mountains in Iran. The word Gabbeh translates from Farsi meaning raw, uncut, or natural. These rugs are a byproduct of a pastoral lifestyle, produced using wool from their sheep herd and dyes from native plants.
Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
