Description
Embodying the rich textile tradition of Afghanistan, this Maimana Kelim is a testament to timeless craftsmanship. Its flat weave and the geometric interplay of burnt orange, deep reds, and indigo hues create a visual narrative that is as enduring as it is visually compelling. Complementing contemporary design sensibilities, its pattern fits effortlessly into modern homes seeking a touch of eclectic heritage. Sized at 8'2" x 10'4", this piece is not merely a rug but a slice of history woven into life.
Kelim, a word of Turkish origin, denotes a pileless rug of many uses produced by one of several flatweaving techniques that have a common or closely related heritage and are practiced in the geographical area that includes parts of Turkey, North Africa, the Balkans, the Caucasus, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Central Asia and China. Kelim designs are made by interweaving the variously colored wefts and warps.
Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
