Description
With a legacy rooted in the esteemed carpet-weaving traditions of Persia, this Saruk rug presents a stunning testament to the skill of its artisan creators. The rug showcases a sophisticated medley of floral motifs and intricate patterning set against a rich crimson field, capturing both the eye and the touch with its inviting texture. Perfectly suited to augment contemporary living spaces with its timeless elegance, the rug seamlessly integrates with current decor trends. Artfully constructed with unique character, this piece measures 2'5" x 4'10" and promises to elevate the aesthetic of any room it graces.
Saruk rugs were produced in Saruk, Arak, and the surrounding countryside in the Markazi Province of Iran. For much of the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, rugs exported from Iran to the USA were dyed to a desirable, deep, raspberry red color, since Americans had an affinity for the curvilinear and floral designs, but not the color. Saruk rugs continue to be produced today, using the same methods as during early production, with the exception of the post-production dye job.
Our collection includes new and vintage/antique handmade rugs, each with its own unique characteristics and color variations, enhancing their individuality and charm. We do our best to accurately depict colors and areas of variation/repair/wear in our photos. We invite you to embrace the inherent beauty of these variations, as they contribute to the authenticity and allure of our handcrafted rugs. Expert repairs and restoration available as needed.
